Composite Signal (CVD · OI · Price)

A signal that reads market-order pressure (CVD), position size (OI), and price together on one screen.

Composite Signal 3D Map — 8 Scenarios

Price × money on the table (open interest) × who's in a hurry (market orders). Three orthogonal axes split the space into 8 cells, and the market is always in one of them.

What is the composite signal? It's a signal that checks who pushed when the price moves. The same rally can mean different things depending on whether new buying is lifting it or liquidations are dragging it.

  1. What are CVD and OI?

CVD is the running difference between market buy and sell executions, showing whether the urgent side right now is buying or selling. OI (open interest) is the total of futures contracts not yet closed. If CVD is the direction of executions, OI is the size of the money on the table.

  2. Why look at all three together?

Price alone can't tell whether a rally comes from new buying or from shorts being forced shut. Rising with growing OI is often read as new money flowing in; rising with shrinking OI as short covering. Overlaying the three makes the character of the move much clearer.

  3. How do I read the 3D chart?

Price, open interest, and market orders each form an axis, producing eight scenarios. From the current cell's axis directions you can tell whether the price is rising, open interest is growing, and market orders lean toward buying. The panel at the bottom right explains the currently selected cell.
